Our experience has been that once our clients arrive at New Life House, they understand and feel the benefits. You are not locked in to any long term agreements, but we do ask that you come planning to stay for at least 60 days. After your initial period at Tharros, you may wish to explore our less structured home, Teras. That’s why we encourage our clients to consider staying 6 months to one year. Upon arriving at a sober-living house from rehab or detox, a woman can expect a safe and supportive environment that promotes long-term sobriety. The house managers will assist in helping her settle in and become familiar with the house rules and daily routine. She will receive help and support from those knowledgeable about addiction and recovery. At New Life House, you can expect to meet other male residents who are committed to their sobriety, have completed some form of primary treatment, and pass regular unannounced breathalyzer and urine tests.

At New Life House, we want to help you achieve your life goals and long­-term sobriety with the tools and foundation you’ve already acquired. ​When you arrive at the house, you will undergo an initial discussion and orientation with the Program Director, including a dialogue on the past events that led you here. Together, we will start discussing what you want to achieve by engaging the support at Tharros. However, experience has shown us, not every person with an addiction or alcoholism is the same. Our program isn’t cookie ­cutter; we want to get to know you and help ensure that you have what is necessary for you to achieve your goals.

Teras is located two miles away from Tharros (both Tharros and Teras Twelve-step program are in Lexington MA). This less structured residence is designed to support clients when they have 25+ hours of work or other outside structure weekly, which can be developed with assistance from our team, in the first 30 days. New Life House is a sober community dedicated to providing affordable sober living. Coolidge House serves as a Comprehensive Sanction Center for male and female offenders from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal District Courts, and Federal Probation. Coolidge House also reserves 4 beds for the SPAN program, which Oxford House serves newly released state and county offenders awaiting placement in transitional or permanent housing. New Life House is a private peer program which is not affiliated with any state or federal offerings.
